Job Summary:

Material Handler Specialist

Conducts multifaceted preventative maintenance activities and rectifies a diversity of equipment-related problems, including those related to trucks and yellow iron.

The incumbent must also stay up-to-date with developments in the industry, identifying trends and potential opportunities that the organization can leverage to gain a competitive advantage:

An individual must perform each essential duty with competence to be successful in this position. Furthermore, minor duties may also be assigned as needed.

  • Provide necessary repairs to different types of equipment, which may encompass bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, front end loaders, yard trucks, farm tractors, forklifts, and company cars, among others, to guarantee their proper working order.
  • Expert in repairing and troubleshooting different types of components such as differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, air conditioning systems, and electrical systems.
  • Implements any necessary corrective action as indicated on the maintenance checklist.
  • Maintains meticulous records by completing forms like work orders, card files, P.M. checklists, and oil samples to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Offers maintenance and servicing for a range of equipment, such as light plants, water pumps, and welders, to guarantee they operate efficiently.
  • Ensure that site-specific procedures and job descriptions comply with all relevant legislation and regulations, and that employees are aware of their legal obligations and responsibilities.
  • Carrying out any other tasks assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualifications:

A balance between education and experience is necessary for sustained success in any profession

  • Education: Not required.

This job opening requires applicants to have gained at least six (6) years of pertinent work experience.

To be considered for this role, applicants must have a valid driver's license and a flawless driving record.

The eligibility to complete the physical responsibilities of the position, whether with or without any reasonable alterations.

NEW EMPLOYEE TRAINING

In addition to education and experience, job candidates can also develop specialized skills through additional training. Examples include technology proficiency, foreign language fluency, and project management certification. These types of acquired skills can make a candidate more marketable in their field of interest

  • Skill in operating tools, equipment, parts and procedures utilized during the repair and servicing of vehicles and equipment, skill in repair of special purpose equipment, ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks, ability to diagnose defects in and repair a variety of equipment and vehicles, ability to utilize fleet maintenance software program, and knowledge of Total Tire Maintenance Program may be required.

Regular lifting and handling of items weighing more than _ pounds are requirements for this position.

The work will be conducted in an environment where individuals will encounter dirt, odors, noise, and varying weather conditions throughout the majority of the day.

Note:

The income range predicted for this role is between $35.00 to $41.00 per hour, with the ultimate pay influenced by variables like the candidate's skills, qualifications, education, certifications, and job location.
