Job Summary:

Heavy Machinery Specialist

Executes complicated preventative maintenance tasks, diagnoses issues, and repairs different types of equipment, such as trucks and heavy machinery.

This position involves overseeing compliance with local, state, and federal laws, as well as industry regulations and standards that apply to the organization's operations:

To be proficient in this position, an individual must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily. Additionally, there may be other minor duties assigned.

  • Ensure all equipment is in optimal condition by performing the required maintenance and repairs, covering equipment such as bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, front end loaders, yard trucks, farm tractors, forklifts, and company cars.
  • The person has the ability to diagnose and fix issues in various systems including differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, air conditioning systems, and electrical systems.
  • Adheres to the recommended preventative maintenance guidelines listed on the checklist.
  • Creates and updates comprehensive maintenance records, such as work orders and oil samples, using a variety of forms and checklists.
  • Ensures that different pieces of equipment, which may include light plants, water pumps, and welders, remain in good working condition through maintenance and service.
  • Continuously monitor the effectiveness of site-specific procedures and job descriptions, and seek feedback from employees and other stakeholders to identify areas for improvement.
  • Accomplishing supplementary tasks as allotted.

The employer is seeking a candidate with a minimum of six (6) years of experience in a related role.

Additional Acquired Skills

  • The position may require the capacity to adeptly operate, repair, and maintain tools, equipment, and procedures involved in the servicing and repair of vehicles and equipment, in addition to expertise in repairing specialized equipment. It may also necessitate the ability to accurately communicate essential repairs or tasks to others, diagnose defects, and repair a diverse range of equipment and vehicles. Furthermore, experience using fleet maintenance software, as well as knowledge of the Total Tire Maintenance Program, may be obligatory.

Work Environment:
